Wedding band…..am I being ridiculous?

I am in what I thought was a serious relationship…my significant other and I have recently hit a bumpy spot in our relationship. He has a wedding band that another woman sent to him (they never ended up getting married) he tells me the ring means nothing, yet says I’m being immature by asking him to part with it if it really means nothing. I feel that it does mean something, which is why he can’t part with it. I also told him that he accepted and kept a wedding band from this girl …had he sold it, he could’ve bought one for me and or used the money to pay his bills instead of asking me for money. Am I out of line?
Notes: This woman is alive and they tried to have a baby. My ex DID give me a ring and I gave it back to him.
This ring is the ONLY thing I have asked him to part with. Not photographs or anything else from his exs…just this wedding band.

Yes, you are making a mountain out of a mole hill. I have my ex husband’s wedding band and my own, put away in my jewelry box. It’s a momento. It doesn’t mean I still love him or I regret divorcing him or that I have any notion that I will ever see him ever again. It just proves that, yes, I was indeed married at one time. I would be very angry with my significant other if he insisted I part with them. They are mine, not his. You cannot change the past.

P.S. Would you ask him to get rid of all of his old photographs that you aren’t in as well?
