My niece is engaged and they are having an engagement party in a week. And I am at a loss for any ideas. I have been told that a bottle of wine and wine glasses, and money or a gift certificate. Nice ideas but not for a family member. If anyone else has a suggestion, I would appreciate it very much,

you are not obligated to bring a gift to an engagment party, it’s only meant to say congrats to the couple. If you want you can get something small like a bottle of wine. But you certainly aren’t expected to get an engagement gift, shower gift and wedding gift.
