Unusual Wedding Bands

Wedding band decision making…?

I’m starting to look around for a wedding band, and I have a sort of unusual question. Does anyone know of a chart/graph that shows the relative popularity of various wedding band metals over the last, say, 100 years? I didn’t have much luck doing a Google search. I’ve noticed that a lot of younger men have darker, “newer” metals like titanium. I’ve also seen some white gold, and of course the older generation mostly has yellow gold. I really want something that will be small and/or lightweight…but I don’t want to go for something new and “trendy” either. Any suggestions? And again, some kind of graph would be nice.

There are so many options it is confusing.
Things to keep in mind are-
What is her ring going to look like- should have some matching appearance.
What practically fits my budget- paying for rings over a long period is foolish.
How hard am I on my clothes and jewelry.
The reason for the last thing is it will give you some insight as far as durability.
To the confusion of both us and the jewelers over the years, I have had the head and prongs for my engagement rig worked on every 4-5 years for excessive wear.
Finally a jeweler asked a few questions that helped figure it out.
I work with my hands, I am left handed, and I am a klutz- all add up to excessive wear.The next step for me is a titanium chanel setting for the stone to keep from loosing it.
Some men we have known have worn their ring so thin that it just falls apart or breaks.
